The Truth about Middle Eastern Politics
Iran’s Oil Bourse: A Threat to the U.S. Economy?
As this article quite well explains. I feel this is the single largest reason why the US wants to attack Iran or play it’s politics of instability. To keep oil prices high so the oil companies can make their profits, to destabilize any opposition, to keep the resources in the Middle East firmly in US control, and to stall the growth of competing nations such as China or India.
The other benefit of playing this dangerous game is to keep the only cultural and ideological challenge to capitalism, that is Islam, in check.
This will explain why the US would attack Somalia, even though its a poor country (albeit endowed with natural resources) and even if it means bringing back lawlessness, corruption, and warlordism all in the name of Democracy and ‘freedom’
And (remember) when the disbelievers plotted against you (O Muhammad SAW) to imprison you, or to kill you, or to get you out (from your home, i.e. Makkah); they were plotting and Allâh too was planning, and Allâh is the Best of the planners. (Al-Anfal 8:30)
Update: This article should add more perspective to the point that was made.
