Hypocrisy? Me thinks ‘Yes’
Yesterday I read this news item about McCain’s ’spiritual guide’ calling Islam a ‘conspiracy of spiritual evil.’ I wasn’t too surprised after reading about it and also after hearing a few stories of racism that my Muslim and non-Muslim friends experienced in the USA. Because that’s what I essentially think about this statement. His view of Islam seems like a mix of racist hatred, belief in the so called ‘moral superiority’ of the chrisitian white man etc etc.
Then later I read about this denunciation from McCain and I almost fooled myself in to believing that McCain actually took the principled stand of disassociating himself from that statement.
Boy was I wrong!
Imagine McCain dis-owning Rod Parsley because of his anti-islamic statements. Not happening I’m sure!
Well,
That is so much the problem. When Islam is misunderstood or stereotyped.
The best way is to educate them about peace and peace in Islam.
