If you’ve ever owned a bike (or car maybe), then you’ve probably heard the phrase ‘run in period.’ What this basically means is that you don’t exceed a certain speed limit. This speed limit restriction is put in place to give longevity to the new engine. Usually, these run in periods last for about a 1,000 kilometers or so.

Dealing with bad relatives is a major pain point for most people. For Muslims this is bigger problem mainly because it is very sinful for us to break blood ties. It is sad to hear when immediate family members aren’t on talking terms or if they haven’t met for months or even years. The general meaning of a hadeeth conveys that we shouldn’t cut off conversation with a fellow Muslim for more than 3 days. However, when tempers flare, the first thing that goes out the window is the deen.

If you were sit down and count the different blessings that you have, how much time would it take? Would it take a whole day, a week, a few minutes, an hour? The answer, I think, depends upon your circumstances and also on what your definition of a blessing is.
I read sometime ago, and I don’t know who said this, that ‘Rich is not the man who has the most, rather the rich man is he who needs the least.’ This statement affected me a lot when I first read it. Of course later on I discovered that Prophet Muhammad

Islamic revival began with action and knowledge and will continue with action and knowledge therefore you are obligated to learn and to be the people of verification knowing strong opinions from weak and knowing how to determine where the greatest good is without deviating from the Book and the Sunnah and this according to ability. Ijtihad is open and taqleed is acceptable but the first obligation of the mature, sane, pubescent responsible Muslim is to understand Islam and then to act upon understanding each according to ability and stage.
